15A NCAC 18A .1824(b) Equipment and utensils shall be kept clean and in good repair.- Observed soiled ice machine in the chute need cleaning on 7th, 5th, 4th, and 2nd floor. Keep clean.

General Comment: 15A NCAC 18A .1826(a) Handwashing sinks as required in Rule .1825 in this section shall be supplied with hand soap, and either individual, disposable towels; a continuous towel system that supplies the user with a clean towel; a heated-air hand drying device; or a hand drying device that employs an air-knife system that delivers high velocity, pressurized air at ambient temperatures.- Observed no paper towels at hand washing sink in laundry room. Ensure to provide all hand washing supplies at the hand sinks at all time.

15A NCAC 18A .1828 (a) Clean bed and bath linen, in good repair, should be provided for each guest. EHS observed a small stain on bed linen in room 609. Points weren't deducted do to severity. -0 points

Observed dust build up on HVAC vents in 103, 302, 406, and 409 restrooms. Observed stain on chair cushion and chair base in room 103. 15A NCAC 18A .1826 (h) Furnishings, bathroom fixtures, carpets, and other accessories in guest rooms, shall be kept clean and in good repair.

Observed hole in wall beside linen rack in 3rd floor storage closet. 15A NCAC 18A .1826 (f) Physical facilities shall be kept clean and in good repair.

Observed dust or black residue in HVAC vent in 6th floor storage room, in various rooms, and halls. Observed cracked floor tiles in 5th floor ice machine room. 15A NCAC 18A .1826 (f) Physical facilities shall be kept clean and in good repair.

Observed water damage on the walls of storage rooms on 6th floor and 5th floor. Scrape and refinish cement damage residue from water damage and paint walls. Observed minor paint chipping on wall in storage room on 3rd floor. Spot paint wall. Entire hotel look immaculate. Rooms observed are very clean.

No Points Deducted: Observed no paper towels at the handsink in the laundry room. -Observed debris buildup in the chairs in rooms 726, 612, 628, and 501. 15A NCAC 18A .1826 (h) Furnishings, bathroom fixtures, carpets, and other accessories in guest rooms, shall be kept clean and in good repair. -Observed housekeeping cart on the 6th floor only using disinfectant. (Disinfectant can be used, but the excess residue must be washed off and then sanitizer must be sprayed and allowed to air dry). -Observed no sanitizer on the housekeeping cart on the 3rd floor. Provide sanitizer. 15A NCAC 18A .1826 (c) Sinks, vanities, toilets, and showers in guest rooms shall be cleaned and sanitized between guests.

No Points Deducted: (Improvement since last inspection): Observed slight buildup in the ice machines on the 7th & 6th floor. 15A NCAC 18A .1826 (f) Physical facilities shall be kept clean and in good repair.

Repeat: Observed torn mattress pad in 709, stained pillow covers, torn sheet & mattress cover in 739, a stain on the curtain, pillow cover, & bed sheet in 602, torn mattress cover in 612 & 529, crack in the marble end table in 501, stained pillow cover in 303, and torn mattress cover, stained pillow cover, and stained bedding in 325. 15A NCAC 18A .1828 (a) Clean bed and bath linen, in good repair, should be provided for each guest. Observed pink & black buildup in 3 of the ice machine chutes inspected. Clean on a routine basis. 15A NCAC 18A .1826 (f) Physical facilities shall be kept clean and in good repair.

Repeat: Observed torn mattress covers in 633 and 317. Observed stains on pillows in rooms 317 and 233. 15A NCAC 18A .1828 (a) Clean bed and bath linen, in good repair, should be provided for each guest. Note: Observed pillows stored on the bottom shelf in the 6th and 3rd floor storage rooms touching the floors. Some of the pillows were stored in a pile on the floor. Observed stain and hair on mattress pad in room 433. Observed hair on sheet and in pillow case in room 239 and 322. Bed linens, including sheets, pillow cases, blankets and bedspreads, shall be kept clean and in good repair. 15A NCAC 18A .1812 (c).
