15ANCAC 18A. 1824(k) A test kit or other device that measures the concentration in mg/L of sanitizing solutions shall be provided by the lodging establishment. Observed facility has no test strips for their QAC sanitizer solution use for cleaning. Obtain the test strips for the sanitizer solution, have available for testing purposes.

15A NCAC 18A .1826(a) Handwashing sinks as required in Rule .1825 in this section shall be supplied with hand soap, and either individual, disposable towels; a continuous towel system that supplies the user with a clean towel; a heated-air hand drying device; or a hand drying device that employs an air-knife system that delivers high velocity, pressurized air at ambient temperatures.- Observed hand sink in laundry room without paper towels for hand drying. Ensure to provide all hand washing supplies at all hand sinks at all time.

General Comment: 15A NCAC 18A .1827(g) A storage area shall be provided for building and ground maintenance tools and supplies and stored in a manner to avoid contamination of food and food contact surfaces, linen, and single-use articles.- Observed supplies boxes (cups, paper towels, etc..) in storage room stored directly on the floor. PIC stated they just got delivery. Ensure to store and keep all clean supplies off the floor at least 6 inches to prevent any possible contamination at any time.

15A NCAC 18A .1826 (f) Physical facilities shall be kept clean and in good repair. Observed water and water splash damage on ceilings in bathroom and damage to walls in room 102.

15A NCAC 18A .1828 (a) Clean bed and bath linen, in good repair, should be provided for each guest. Observed stained bed linen in room 125. -REPEAT- Points not increased due to improvement.

This requirement shall be effective one year after the effective date of this Rule. Observed coffee maker in need of detail cleaning in 208. Observed debris in cracks of chairs throughout and in sofa of 208. Observed debris collecting in drawers in 217. Observed shower head with build-up in 217 and bath tub in need of caulking to reseal it. Observed build-up on tub in 208 and 114. Observed ice bucket lid in need of cleaning in 217. Observed the ceiling of microwave and gasket of refrigerator in need of cleaning in 203. **15A NCAC 18A .1826 (h) Furnishings, bathroom fixtures, carpets, and other accessories in guest rooms, shall be kept clean and in good repair.

Observed vents in need of cleaning in AC vents throughout. Observed water damaged ceiling in lobby. Observed wall damage in housekeeping closet, laundry room, and fitness room. Observed heavy growth on the ceiling in 119. Observed baseboards coming away from wall in 226, 114, and 119. **15A NCAC 18A .1826 (f) Physical facilities shall be kept clean and in good repair.

Observed small live bug in the bed of room 217. Observed wasp nests on the exterior wall of building near higher numbered rooms on second floor. **15A NCAC 18A .1826 (i) Maintain premises free of insects, rodents, and other pests.

Observed stained comforter in 217 and 114, hole in comforters in 26 and 119, stained mattress cover in 226, and stained sheet in 203 and 208. **15A NCAC 18A .1828 (a) Clean bed and bath linen, in good repair, should be provided for each guest.

Observed soiled linen bin without label in fitness room. Label "soiled linen." **15A NCAC 18A .1828 (e ) Soiled laundry shall be handled and stored separately from clean laundry using separate, cleanable carts or bags.

Observed employee personal drink and phone commingled with clean guest items and chemicals stored over clean linen. **15A NCAC 18A .1828 (d) Items on housekeeping carts shall be arranged in a manner to prevent cross-contamination between soiled and cleaned items.

Observed dumpster lid to be open. Ensure lids remain closed when not in use. **5-501.15 Maintain refuse, recyclables, and returnables receptacles with tight-fitting lids, doors, or covers.
