Observed stain on sheet in room 519. Removed during the inspection. **15A NCAC 18A .1828 (a) Clean bed and bath linen, in good repair, should be provided for each guest.

Observed disposable lids on housekeeping cart on 5th floor not properly protected. Placed in bag during the inspection **15A NCAC 18A .1828 (d) Items on housekeeping carts shall be arranged in a manner to prevent cross-contamination between soiled and cleaned items.

15A NCAC 18A .1826(a) Handwashing sinks as required in Rule .1825 in this section shall be supplied with hand soap, and either individual, disposable towels; a continuous towel system that supplies the user with a clean towel; a heated-air hand drying device; or a hand drying device that employs an air-knife system that delivers high velocity, pressurized air at ambient temperatures. Observed hand sink in kitchen with no soap or paper towels/hand drying device. Ensure soap and paper towels are provided at all handwashing sinks.

15A NCAC 18A .1826 (f) Physical facilities shall be kept clean and in good repair. Observed stained ceiling tile in 1st floor hallway and multiple stained/missing ceiling tiles in service hall are outside laundry room. Observed slight dust accumulation on laundry room ceiling and pipes. Keep clean. Repair any leaks and replace ceiling tiles. Points remain the same due to no physical facility violations noted in guest rooms.

15A NCAC 18A .1826 (h) Furnishings, bathroom fixtures, carpets, and other accessories in guest rooms, shall be kept clean and in good repair. Observed door knobs missing/loose on coffee bar and closet in room 406.

15A NCAC 18A .1826 (f) Physical facilities shall be kept clean and in good repair. Observed staining on carpet in rooms 223 and 323. Observed carpet fraying leading into bathroom in room 223. Observed damaged linoleum floor tile in house keeping closet on 4th floor. Observed cracked tile in ice machine room on 7th floor.

5-501.115 A storage area and enclosure for refuse, recyclables, or returnables shall be maintained free of unnecessary items and clean. Observed cardboard boxes stored around cardboard dumpster in enclosure.

Observed single service cups stored on housekeeping cart unprotected. Spoke with staff about keeping cups in protection to prevent possible contamination. **15A NCAC 18A .1824(i) Single-use articles may be used if discarded after each use. Single use articles may be stored and handled to prevent contamination.

Continue touching up paint in storage areas on the floors. **15A NCAC 18A .1826 (f) Physical facilities shall be kept clean and in good repair.

Observed residue in the tea/coffee maker in room 506 and 508. Spoke with staff about the issued. Observed build-up on ice chute on the 6th and 3rd floor. Needs to be cleaned. **4-601.11(A)* Equipment food contact surfaces and utensils shall be clean to sight and touch. -Pf

Observed touch up paint needed in the laundry area. Continue to repair and paint walls. Hotel is currently going through renovations. **15A NCAC 18A .1826 (f) Physical facilities shall be kept clean and in good repair.

Observed lint roller stored above clean linen on the housekeeping cart on the 6th floor. Relocated to other side of cart. **15A NCAC 18A .1828 (d) Items on housekeeping carts shall be arranged in a manner to prevent cross-contamination between soiled and cleaned items.

15A NCAC 18A .1824 (b) Equipment and utensils shall be kept clean and in good repair. Observed ice machine chutes with visible build-up, every machine checked today.

15A NCAC 18A .1825 (c ) A handwashing sink, located to allow use by employees handling clean and soiled linen, shall be provided. This requirement shall be effective one year after the effective date of this Rule. Observed the faucet handles have not been changed out yet at laundry room hand sink. Replace existing push buttons needing continuous pushing to operate with handles that don't turn off automatically before 20 seconds.

15A NCAC 18A .1826 (d) Light intensity shall be at least 20 foot candles at 30 inches above the floor in areas for handwashing, warewashing, equipment storage, utensil storage, and in toilet rooms. Observed some lighting in storage rooms not working. Make sure all lighting is operational.

15A NCAC 18A .1828 (d) Items on housekeeping carts shall be arranged in a manner to prevent cross-contamination between soiled and cleaned items. Observed unprotected glass caps, coffee cups not indiv wrapped, coffee cup lids. Tea bags with scrub brush stored above. Clean towels stored on edge of dirty linen bin. Carts need to be clean and organized.
