15A NCAC 18A .1826(a) Handwashing sinks as required in Rule .1825 in this section shall be supplied with hand soap, and either individual, disposable towels; a continuous towel system that supplies the user with a clean towel; a heated-air hand drying device; or a hand drying device that employs an air-knife system that delivers high velocity, pressurized air at ambient temperatures. Observed no paper towels or hand drying device at handsink in laundry room.

15A NCAC 18A .1826 (h) Furnishings, bathroom fixtures, carpets, and other accessories in guest rooms, shall be kept clean and in good repair. Observed minor carpet staining on main hallways walkways throughout building.

5-501.113 (B) Maintain tight fitting lids or doors on outside receptacles. Observed sliding dumpster doors opened during time of inspection. 5-501.115 A storage area and enclosure for refuse, recyclables, or returnables shall be maintained free of unnecessary items and clean. Observed minor debris surrounding dumpster area.

15A NCAC 18A .1823 (c ) Ice used for room service shall be manufactured from a water supply that complies with 15A NCAC .1700 rules and 15A NCAC 18C rules and shall be stored and handled in a manner so as to prevent contamination. Observed pink build-up in ice dispenser on 4th floor.

15ANCAC 18A. 1824(k) A test kit or other device that measures the concentration in mg/L of sanitizing solutions shall be provided by the lodging establishment. Provide test kit for sanitizer (EcoLab Sink & surface Sanitizer)

5-501.114 Drains in receptacles and waste handling units for refuse, recyclables, and returnables shall have drain plugs in place. No drain plug in receptacle used for cardboard.

Observed 1 sanitizer spray bottle unlabeled on housekeeping cart in storage room on 4th floor. Label.

15A NCAC 18A .1824 (b) Equipment and utensils shall be kept clean and in good repair. Observed multi-use glassware in several rooms with smudges, fingerprints and lint. Run through dish-machines in rooms on the sani-cycle, let dry and wear clean gloves to put items away to prevent smudges, fingerprints and lint.

15A NCAC 18A .1826 (f) Physical facilities shall be kept clean and in good repair. Observed mold growth on wall near AC air intake, room 435. Check see if there is a clogged drain pan/repair issue and clean wall.

15A NCAC 18A .1828( c) Clean linen and supplies shall be stored in cabinets, or on shelves in linen and supply storage rooms. Observed linens and other supplies stored on floor in laundry room.

15A NCAC 18A .1828 (d) Items on housekeeping carts shall be arranged in a manner to prevent cross-contamination between soiled and cleaned items. Observed dirty cups stored with clean linen on housekeeping carts. Protect clean items like ice bucket bags, salt/pepper packets, coffee supplies from dirty items like door stops, magic erasers, dusters, etc.
