Observed gate not fully self-latching upon arrival. Gate had previous had a diagonal wire to keep the door in shape. Wire was removed as a potential foot hold. After discussion with Katie Rudisill of MCHD it was determined that the angle of the wire would make it unlikely to be used as an effective foot hold, and that the gate self-closing and self-latching may require the wire. Wire was replaced and gate corrected so that it self-closed and self-latched. -CDI. Ensure that gate remains in a condition where it is fully self-closing and fully self-latching.
