Note: All drain covers expire on 4/15/2026. The filtration main drains will be required to be replaced prior to expiration. A permit will not be issued for 2026 and permit will be suspended if drain covers are not changed prior to expiration. Have spoken with Jon Smalls regarding drains for filtration and fire suppression. Federal law changed in 2021 which changed the testing requirements and flow ratings for all newly manufactured drain covers. Old product, which was provided for this pool at time of original construction, was installed at time of installation. The old covers installed have a different sump requirement and flow rating than the newly manufactured like replacement. APSP-16 will be regulating fire suppression systems in swimming pools in the new update to the standard in 2026. The new drain cover, for the fire suppression system, as a like for like will not work with the sump measurements of the pipe and the orientation of what is present in the pool. The drain cover installed must be capable of handling the max flow of the pump and also be permitted for installation on the sump for which it is installed. Refer to manufacturer specifications for sump requirements. Photograph's were received of the sump measurements; however, no labeling was provided. Requiring identification of the pictures for review. Once drains are replaced, a new PDSC form will be required. If sump measurements differ from previous approval, documentation will be required.
